For many businesses, cloud computing is part of their everyday operations, at once innovative and prominent in their business practices. For others, the cloud is more elusive, a recent survey found. According to a report conducted by 451 Research and released by Microsoft, more than 45 percent of executives consider themselves beyond the initial cloud integration phase, while 32 percent said they have an official cloud computing strategy in place as a component of their larger IT program as a whole.
Just under a quarter of the 2,041 respondents – 24 percent – considered their companies to be “heavy” users of cloud computing, marking a significant and rising portion of the business community that is adapting some of the latest tech trends. That rising trend has yet to take off across the board, however, as just 18 percent said they relied heavily on the technology to launch new projects or programs, signaling a lack of full integration on the part of many companies.
Cloud computing can greatly benefit business owners in terms of data storage, security and accessibility, although the most recently updated business equipment can often be out of a business owner’s price range.
